1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.
My Listening
The topic I received today from Jesus is: If you have not been on our side, they would have swallowed us alive!
Today's Psalm 124 shows the total trust of David on God. Yes, he would have been swallowed by his enemies!
Today's 2 Samuel records how David was being betrayed by Ahithophel and is not for Abasalom not to listen to him but listened to Hushai, David would have been killed. According to 2 Samuel 23:34 Ahithophel was the father of Eliam and according to 2 Samuel 11:3 Eliam was the father of Bethsheba! David killed Ahithophel's granddaughter's husband! That's why Ahithophel planned to have his revenge on David but David was not aware of that. If God had not received David's repentance, David would have been destroyed by Ahithophel's strategy to Abasalom.
Do you believe that God will help you in you calamity as he helped David?
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to have a total trust in you that you will help us as you helped David. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen. Reflect on these questions:
1. What inspiration has you got from Ahithophel's downfall ?
2. What is your next step to make that happen?
