Nicky Gumbel's Bible in one year today:
Silence
1. Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2. Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.
Praise and Thanksgiving
1. Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2. Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3. Sing a song to praise God (you are welcome to use "Father, I adore you" which I have been singing every morning for the past 20 years or your own choice to praise God)
Father, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.
Jesus, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.
Spirit, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.
Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
2. Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

Today's main passage:
31 Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they settled there.
32 Terah lived 205 years, and he died in Harran.
The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
2 “I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.”
4 So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran.
Genesis 11:31-12:4
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.
My Listening
The topic I received from Jesus is: Call on God, God will bless; Make your name great, scattered and confused !
Today I drew a map to show the place from Abram's father Terah starting his journey from Ur(that was Shinar area and later Babylon) to Canaan but stopped at Harran and died, then Abram heard God's call and went to Canaan's Shechem and Bethel. Then because of Abram's little faith, from Bethel to Negev, a place of desert, then little faith again from Negev to Egypt, then little faith again and nearly lost his own wife Sarai! If not for God to show forth His mighty hand, it wold be a big mess! After that Abram had a U-turn, back to Negev and then back to the original starting point where God appeared to him - Bethel.
When I look at the map I drew today and I see the story of human beings, exactly the theme I received today: Call on God, God will bless; You make your name great, scattered and confused.
1. Call on God, God will bless
This we can clearly see in today's Psalm, how Abram experienced God in Genesis and Jesus' Beatitudes in Matthew. When you are willing to call on God, you will surely experience God's continuous blessings.2. You make your name great, scattered and confused
This we can see in today's Genesis of the Babel Tower story, the little faith of Abram, how people refuse to listen and disregard God's advice in today's Proverbs. They were being scattered and confused by God's mighty act! All those disaster and fear is because of their stiff-neck and disobedience.
So, what would be the picture of your life?
Would that be "Call on God, God will bless", or "You make your name great, scattered and confused"?
Dear Lord Jesus,
Hep us to call on you each day to receive your blessing and through our obedience to you to bless more people. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Reflect on these questions:
1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?
2. What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus?
