Please click this link to read 1 Thessalonians 4:

It is God's will that you should be sanctified; that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God. 1 Thessalonians 4: 3-5

After that, we who are sill alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
1 Thessalonians 4: 17

What I heard from Jesus today is: Be sanctified, ready for rapture!

The weather of the whole earth is having a big change in these two to three years. What if the end of the world is coming at last? This chapter is one of a few places in the Bible talks about "Rapture". Do you know what is "Rapture"? Paul talks about that in verse 17 that at the end time, the disciples of Christ will be raptured(caught up) in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And they will be with the Lord forever.

It is because of that Paul urges Christians to be sanctified and live a life that is holy and honorable. Well, that is a life of Christlikeness. Are you ready for "Rapture"?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to live a life that is holy and honorable and that we are ready for rapture . In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Please click this link to read 1 Thessalonians 3:

You know quite well that we were destined for trials. In fact, when we were with you, we kept telling you that we would be persecuted. And it turned out that way, as you well know. For this reason, when I could stand it no longer I sent to find out about your faith. I was afraid that in some way the tempter might have tempted you and our efforts might have been useless. 1 Thessalonians 3: 3-5

What I heard from Jesus today is: Don't be tempted by the Tempter!

The most painful thing for me as a leader is to see those I helped, trained, cared, loved and supported to be tempted by the Tempter and all my efforts have been useless! Paul reminds us that we are always in all kinds of trials and persecution and we should be ready for that so that we would not be discouraged or even depressed. Our duty is to try all our best like what Timothy's job as described by Paul: to strengthen and encourage our brothers and sisters so that no one would be unsettled by those trials. Are we prepared and ready for this call?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to strengthen and encourage our brothers and sisters so that they will not be tempted by the Tempter. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Please click this link to read 1 Thessalonians:

For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God who calls you into his kingdom and glory. 1 Thessalonians 2: 11-12

What I heard from Jesus today is: Be a mother and a father to love his disciples!

Yesterday Jesus gave me a picture to see a coach watching the athlete he coached to dash through the Olympic 100 meters red line. He jumped up and cried out, "Wow! Great! Praise the Lord!"

You can see that kind of joy in Paul as he says in the last verse of this chapter, "Indeed, you are our glory and joy."

But, today we got a hint of why he was so joyful like that. It is because he loved all of them like a mother and a father!

Today is a very important, powerful and wonderful day. I was working 14 hours yesterday and was too tired when I got home around 10: 30p.m.. I knew that I needed to write my two blogs but I did not have the energy and I felt that the Lord wanted me to sleep. I think if I disobeyed and still wrote the two blogs I would not receive those important messages as I received today in my first blog. And then today's chapter on 1 Thessalonians 2 was the one my spiritual father John Stott gave to me two years ago when I visited him with my son Ignantius in his London senior home. So, I decided to have a podcast on both my blogs today for I think this is really very, very important to all those who have a chance to listen. And I am sure that it is not from me but from our Lord Jesus Christ. I am also called to launch the second wave of Discipler 123 of another three months period from October 1, 2011 to December 30, 2011 and I will start my English podcast again from October 1, 2011.

Let's learn and follow Paul and John Stott's models to be "a mother and a father" to the disciples of Jesus whom Jesus entrusted to us!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be able to love your disciples as a mother and a father. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

**This is a very important passage to me for this is the passage John Stott gave me when I visited him with my son Ignatius last July in the senior home he is living near London. This is what I wrote in the second post of this blog early last August:

My recent visit to John Stott

John has been my spiritual father and mentor since 1991. My son, Ignatius, and I are so blessed that he welcomed us to his home in England and blessed us.

I told John that when I prayed to the Lord Jesus Christ of what He wants me to do when I become a bishop, Jesus' answer was, "Do what is in Acts 6: 4 'We will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the Word."

The Lord told me to help our people to establish an intimate relationship with Him through prayers and to teach them to listen to Jesus' Word.

When John heard this he smiled, looked at me with the loving eyes of a father and said, "Silas, you have listened well. Yes, I believe so. Let me give you what I heard from the Lord to you. Then he asked Ignatius to read 1 Thessalonians 2: 1 - 13

You know, brothers, that our visit to you was not a failure. We had previously suffered and been insulted in Philippi, as you know, but with the help of our God we dared to tell you his gospel in spite of strong opposition. For the appeal we make does not spring from error or impure motives, nor are we trying to trick you. On the contrary, we speak as men approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please men but God, who tests our hearts. You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed - God is our witness. We were not looking for praise from men, not from you or anyone else. As apostles of Christ we could have been a burden to you, but we were gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children. We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us. Surely you remember, brothers, our toil and hardship; we worked night and day in order not to be a burden to anyone while we preached the gospel of God to you. You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who beleved. For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory. And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.

John told me that this is what he got from the Lord to me. He told Ignatius to stop three times when he read the word "mother", "father" and "word". Explaining that are the three keys words he received from the Lord Jesus Christ to me in two aspects:

1. To have the gentleness of a mother and the passion of a father in order to build up relationship with God and His people.

2. To be a steward of God's Word.

John also confirmed the findings in my research that:
1. There are less than 10% of Christians have daily devotion which makes the "Parable of the Growing Seed" unable to work out as from "Stalk, head, full kernel to harvest". Without a daily intimate relationship with Jesus, the stage stops at the first phase - the stalk or even wither at this stage.

2. Every Christian needs a good Discipler to help for a period of time(Jesus used three years)to ensure a healthy daily devotion habit. As in Paul Stanley and Robert Clinton's "Connecting" clearly stated "In order to know and follow Christ, a disciple needs to extablish habits that will affect his or her character and destiny. Such habits are essential to the disciple's lifelong pursuit of Christ. Habits do not develop easily; human nature resists change...the effort needed to break or establish habits to the great amount of energy initially needed by a rocket to overcome the earth's gravitational pull. Once out of the earth's atmosphere, however, the rocket glides with small amounts of energy."

I have confirmation of these two main findings from many Christian leaders including my two Fuller professors, Rev. Dr. Richard Peace and Rev. Dr. John Drane(John is John Stott's succesor as the Chaplain of the Royal Family, England).
John then gave me his new book he wrote in 2006 "Through the Bible Through the Year". I was shocked to receive his gift for what the Lord asks me to do a 1,189 days of Daily Devotion through my block is the similar idea that John had in this new book. He goes through the whole Bible in a year as in a Daily devotion format for his reader. I told John about my vision and he smiled again and told me that that is a very good and accurate vision from the Lord.

At the back of John's "Through the Bible Through the Year" are two comments:

"I can't think of anyone who has been more effective(than John Stott) in introducing so many people to a biblical world view. He represents a touchstone of authentic biblical scholarship..."
BILLY GRAHAM

"Stott's mission is to pierce through all the encrustations and share direct contact with Jesus."
NEW YORK TIMES

John was recently named by TIME magazine as one of the world's most influential people.

He gave Ignatius his newest book "John Stott - The Last Word" wrote in 2008. For a young man of 20 to be blessed by John Stott and have John's newest book with a personal message written and signed by John this morning is a big gift from the Lord to my son!

What John received from the Lord to me is almost 80% of what I got from the Lord many weeks ago as in Acts 6: 4 but more detailed. How wonderful and miraculous that this could happen and how blessed I am to receive such kind of confirmation and blessings from the Lord through John Stott.

Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God mature and fully assured. Colossians 3: 5-10

What I heard from Jesus today is: Join the prayer team please!

What I've got from Jesus today is to open my eyes to see a vision of many of His servants praying for the churches of Colosse, Laodicea and Hierapolis. None of them knew there would be a huge earthquake killing most of the people in these three cities in two years time. They just like millions and millions of God's servant understood and experienced the power and importance of prayers always wrestling in prayer for those they prayed for. The purpose is very simple and essential(v. 12):
1. They can stand firm in all the will of God.
What they would have been think during and after the earthquake? If they died in the earthquake, then they were prepared and were in heaven. But if they survived, would they challenged God for why He allowed that?

2. Mature

3. Fully assured
This leads me to think of the hymn Blessed Assurance!

Please count all those names (there are 11 names) in this chapter and they were all in this prayer team of Christlikeness.
Join us please!!!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to try all our best to join this prayer team of Christlikeness. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Please click this link to read Colossians 3:

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Colossians 3: 5-10

What I heard from Jesus today is: From Devil-likeness to Christ-likeness.

Have you ever thought of your were once in the image of the Devil and you were once in the lifestyle of Devil-likeness. I do hope and pray that you are not still in that kind of lifestyle.

Paul used two very strong words "put to death" and "rid yourselves of " to describe the critical situation of Christians as they were still living in sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, greed, anger, rage, malice, slander and filthy language. Do you still have any of these?

When we are being transformed from Devil-likeness to Christ-likeness then everything will be changed including all kinds of relationship as Paul described: husband and wife, parent and children, slaves and masters. Because your relationship have been changed, your focus has been changed, your mind has been changed and everything will be changed and renewed into a lifestyle of Christ-likeness. Have you been changing towards that direction?
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be able to change and renew from Devil-likeness to Christ-likeness. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Please click this link to read Colossians 2:

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2: 6-7

What I heard from Jesus today is: Live, rooted and built in Jesus!

I was in awe today when I read the name Laodicea in the first verse of this chapter and found out that the name of the city Hierapolis appears only once and that is in Colossians 4: 14. Yesterday I talked about the big earthquake that destroyed these three cities (Colossae, Laodicea and Hierapolis) two to three years after Paul wrote this letter.

When God prepares His servants to do something we better listen and obey because we never know if we don't then we might not be able to stand what is to follow. In this context, you may have a new look to what Paul want to say that if we have Jesus as Lord then we need to live, rooted and built in Him. How well are you live, rooted and built in Him. This might be a life or death question!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to cherish every day of our life and that we can live, rooted and built in you. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
