Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

     When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion,
            we were like those who dream.
       Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
            and our tongue with shouts of joy;
             then they said among the nations,
       “The Lord has done great things for them.”
        The Lord has done great things for us;
            we are glad.

                       Psalm 126 :1-3

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Judges 10:1-14)

        And the people of Israel cried out to the Lord, saying, “We have sinned against you, because we have forsaken our God and have served the Baals.” 11 And the Lord said to the people of Israel, “Did I not save you from the Egyptians and from the Amorites, from the Ammonites and from the Philistines? 12 The Sidonians also, and the Amalekites and the Maonites oppressed you, and you cried out to me, and I saved you out of their hand.13 Yet you have forsaken me and served other gods; therefore I will save you no more.14 Go and cry out to the gods whom you have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.”
                      Judges 10:10-14
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
          The cycle repeats for the Israelites, they got two judges and had peace for 45 years and then went astray again. But, this time God said, "This is it, you try other gods." What would you do if you were in that situation?

Let's see how Professor John Goldingay tells us:

         Once again the Israelites abandon Yahweh and worship other deities. Once again they pay for it politically. Once again they cry out to God. On this occasion, for the first time, God says, "I've had enough."

John Goldingay. Joshua, Judges and Ruth for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2011, p.126.

      Does God has enough for you? Does God has enough for someone you know? What can you do to repent and get back to His Kingdom? What can you do to help someone to repent and get back to His Kingdom?

          This is Jesus' invitation and challenge to you today!

    Dear Lord Jesus,
    Lead us to be sure that we are in your Kingdom following you as our Lord and King. Help us to repent if we are living on our own way. Give us strength to help someone to repent and get back to your Kingdom.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. What's wrong with the Israelites that they committed the same sins over and over again? How about you?

2.  How willing are you to help someone not to commit the same sins over and over again? Any good ways to avoid this cycle?

3. What have you got from Jesus today?

Today's Time with Abba daily reading that I recited loudly and copy the Bible is:
