Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Judges 15:1-8)

After some days, at the time of wheat harvest, Samson went to visit his wife with a young goat. And he said, “I will go in to my wife in the chamber.” But her father would not allow him to go in. And her father said, “I really thought that you utterly hated her, so I gave her to your companion. Is not her younger sister more beautiful than she? Please take her instead.” And Samson said to them, “This time I shall be innocent in regard to the Philistines, when I do them harm.” So Samson went and caught 300 foxes and took torches. And he turned them tail to tail and put a torch between each pair of tails. And when he had set fire to the torches, he let the foxes go into the standing grain of the Philistines and set fire to the stacked grain and the standing grain, as well as the olive orchards. Then the Philistines said, “Who has done this?” And they said, “Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite, because he has taken his wife and given her to his companion.” And the Philistines came up and burned her and her father with fire. And Samson said to them, “If this is what you do, I swear I will be avenged on you, and after that I will quit.”And he struck them hip and thigh with a great blow, and he went down and stayed in the cleft of the rock of Etam.                  Judges 14:16-20

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
How do you feel when you read today's passage? Samson's father-in-law gave his wife to another man. He was so angry and he burnt the grain field and olive orchards of the Philistines. Horrible things happened at this point, the Philistines burnt Samson's wife and father-in-law. Then Samson had a big rage and killed all those Philistines.

Did God tell him or move him to do that kind of burning or killing? No! It is the weak side of his character to cause him to have that kind of rage to bring destruction to so many people and things.

Watch out your temper! Anger and rage lead to pain, suffering and destruction. Quite a number of people including Christian leaders have good temper to other people but not their family members. I have received so many complains from all sorts of people sharing how their family members hurt them because of their bad temper, anger and rage.

    Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be aware of our temper so that we won't bring pain to other people especially our family members.  In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
    1. Do you think you have bad temper, or even anger and rage? Is your bad temper, anger and rage mostly towards your family members or other people?

2. What have you learned today to deal with your anger and rage?

3. What have you got from Jesus today?

Today's Time with Abba daily reading that I recited loudly and copy the Bible is:
Psalm 125:1-5
Ezekiel 39:1-40:27
James 2:18- 3:18
