12 尼 珥 的 兒 子 押 尼 珥 和 掃 羅 的 兒 子 伊 施 波 設 的 僕 人 從 瑪 哈 念 出 來 ， 往 基 遍 去 。
13 洗 魯 雅 的 兒 子 約 押 和 大 衛 的 僕 人 也 出 來 ， 在 基 遍 池 旁 與 他 們 相 遇 ； 一 班 坐 在 池 這 邊 ， 一 班 坐 在 池 那 邊 。

25 便 雅 憫 人 聚 集 ， 跟 隨 押 尼 珥 站 在 一 個 山 頂 上 。
26 押 尼 珥 呼 叫 約 押 說 ： 刀 劍 豈 可 永 遠 殺 人 麼 ？ 你 豈 不 知 終 久 必 有 苦 楚 麼 ？ 你 要 等 何 時 才 叫 百 姓 回 去 、 不 追 趕 弟 兄 呢 ？
27 約 押 說 ： 我 指 著 永 生 的 神 起 誓 ： 你 若 不 說 戲 耍 的 那 句 話 ， 今 日 早 晨 百 姓 就 回 去 ， 不 追 趕 弟 兄 了 。
28 於 是 約 押 吹 角 ， 眾 民 就 站 住 ， 不 再 追 趕 以 色 列 人 ， 也 不 再 打 仗 了 。

Why Saul's servants and David's servants fought and killed each others although they were both Israelites, God's people? Why David did not move to North right away after Saul died and let Saul's son Ish-Bosheth to be king for two years? We can learn from today's passage of how David's wisdom worked to unite the whole kingdom together in two years time.

Politically, David's position overlaps with that of the leader of an opposition group that has been seeking to overthrow the government. From the governments' viewpoint and now from the viewpoint of Saul's supporters, he is a terrorist. Because his base lies in Judah, where he comes from, that is where he goes for this first human anointing. It is a humanly shrewd move, but it is also one he consults God about. He does not immediately show his hand or show his face in Saul's heartland, further north, and chapter 2's story about the clash between forces loyal to Saul and forces loyal to David shows the wisdom in his caution.

Do you know what is true wisdom? Wisdom is when God says go, you go; when God says stay, you stay and when God says wait, you wait!
That's wisdom! Do you have this kind of wisdom?
First of all, do you have this kind of relationship with God as David had that you can hear from Him clearly?
Second, do you have that kind of courage as David had that you are willing to act according to what you have heard? I do hope David's experience can give you true wisdom.
The wonderful thing is that this morning I finally acted on what I have heard for quite some time. I stopped running for more than half a year and without any exercise. God told quite a number of people to remind me of doing work out again but I kept on not listening.
This morning during our 6:30a.m.Prayer Meeting I acted on what I have heard for months. I told our brothers and sisters this morning that from now on we are going to have a group work out every Thursday after our 6:30a.m. to 7:30a.m. Prayer Meeting. We will go to the new Richmond Community Centre just across the road to do work out from 8a.m. to 9:30a.m. every Thursday morning. Are you going to join us?
I truly believe that God wants us to have spiritual exercise and also physical exercise!
