DAY 30 (2018) - Don't Strive to be the Big Boss, but A Servant (Please click here for English podcast)

Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

My Listening

The message I got today from our Lord Jesus Christ is "Don't strive to be Big Boss, but a servant".

Today's Psalm shows us  the mighty power of God overpower everything and everyone, commanding the angels and archangels and scattering all enemies.

But, today's Exodus and Matthew shows how foolish human beings always have been! How Pharaoh kept on rejecting God and how the mother of James and John asked Jesus for letting her two sons to become the most important two people on the side of Jesus when He got His Kingdom power. And, how the other ten apostles of Jesus jealous of what James and John's wish!

Yah, everybody wants to be the Big Boss lording other people!

Jesus says, "whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave."

Are you willing to be a servant and slave for Jesus and other people rather than striving everything you have to be a Big Boss?

       Dear Lord Jesus,
Help me to follow your example to be a servant and a slave for other people.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

    Reflect on these questions:
   1.  How do you feel when God invites you today to become a servant and a slave? Are you willing? What's you net step to make that a reality?

    2.  Have you experienced hurts when people around you want to become the Big Boss? How can you make a good example for those people to let down their "lordship"?

    3. What have you received from Jesus today?

Let us praise the Lord:
