Nicky Gumbel's Bible in one year today:
Bible in one year by Nicky Gumbel:
Silence
1. Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2. Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.
Praise and Thanksgiving
1. Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2. Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3. Sing a song to praise God (you are welcome to use "Father, I adore you" which I have been singing every morning for the past 20 years or your own choice to praise God)
Father, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.
Jesus, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.
Spirit, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.
Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
2. Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
3. John Stott's daily prayer of Christlikeness (Christopher J.H. Wright, Cultivating the fruit of the Spirit. Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 2017, 13)

"Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.
Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.
Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."
The Word, Time with Abba (Psalm 102:1-11, Song of Songs 5:1-8:14; 2 Corinthians 9:1-15; Proverbs 22:24-25)
Today's key passage:
Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you: Do not arouse or awaken love
until it so desires.
Who is this coming up from the wilderness leaning on her beloved?
Under the apple tree I roused you; there your mother conceived you,
there she who was in labor gave you birth. Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm;
for love is as strong as death,
its jealousy unyielding as the grave.
It burns like blazing fire,
like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away.
If one were to give
all the wealth of one’s house for love,
it would be utterly scorned.
Song of Songs 8:4-7
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.
My Listening The topic I received today from Jesus is: If your love to Jesus burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame, then your victory will be in all areas!
Song of Songs 8:6-7 is a very important golden verse in the Bible and also lyrics being used by many famous Choral music composer, one of the most famous anthem using these two verses was by John Ireland "Greater love hath no man".
These two verses tells us how much Jesus loves us that He died for us, but He won't force us to love Him but always waiting for us to enter into this kind of intimate and deep love with Him!
If your love to Jesus is like what these two verses describes, burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame, then your victory will be in all areas!
You are welcome to click the link below to listen to this anthem "Greater love have no man". There are quite a number of choirs for you to choose. I recommend St. John's College, Cambridge. The first time I listened to this anthem was in 1977 when I was studying in the Royal School of Church Music in England. I had the honor to be in the yearly three Cathedrals Choral Festival and be able to listen to this anthem the first time. I still remember when the tenor voice started the anthem and then the choir joined in, the whole six minutes I was in tears. That was the first time I deeply understood how Jesus loved me waiting for me to love Him the same way. Wow! Now, please click this link to choose St. John's College, Cambridge and listen. Dear Lord Jesus, Help us to have the love to you burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame so that our victory will be in our marriage, our family, our church and many more relationships. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?
2. What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
