“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
The Word, Time with Abba (Psalm 106:1-5, Isaiah 39:1-41:16; Ephesians 1:1-23; Proverbs 23:25-28)
Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord or fully declare his praise?Blessed are those who act justly,
who always do what is right.Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people,
come to my aid when you save them, that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones,
that I may share in the joy of your nation
and join your inheritance in giving praise.
Psalm 106:1-5
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to him.
My Listening The topic I received today from Jesus is: Jesus is Lord! Don't bite the hand that fed you and be carried away by emerging novelty!
Today's catch is very rich and important!
First I see God's promise in Psalm 106:1-5: When we "Praise the Lord", "Proclaim God's mighty acts " and "Act on God's command"; then, God will show "favor" to us and bless us to enjoy the "prosperity" He gives us and share the "joy" of God's Kingdom and received inheritance from Him.
We can see this promise happened to King Hezekiah in yesterday's Isaiah 37 and 38 that God sent an angel to destroy the vast Assyria army and God listened to his cry and healed him of his critical illness at the point of death.
The terrible thing is that he forgot what God had done and befriended with Babylon! Isaiah warned him and prophesied that Hezekiah's kingdom will be destroyed but he did not listen, did not repent like before! Why? Impossible?
After more than 700 years, Paul wrote to the church of Ephesus asking the Holy Spirit to open their eyes to see nothing and no one but to focus on Jesus Christ, to live out Jesus is Lord! The sad thing is that from Revelation 2:1-7, even the church of Ephesus lost their first love to Jesus!
I was so sad to see all these happened no matter in King Hezekiah or the church of Ephesus! And, if they could changed and rotten like that, can we get away from this human sins and weakness?
I think the only way is what Paul says in Ephesians 1:17, to ask the Holy Spirit to open our eyes to focus only on Jesus so that we can live out Jesus is Lord!
Dear Holy Spirit, Help us never forget your grace and love that we are being carried away by other people or things. Open our eyes that we can focus on Jesus and to live out Jesus is Lord. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
who always do what is right.
come to my aid when you save them,

and join your inheritance in giving praise.
