DAY 179 (2017) - Don't Against Sound Judgment? (Please click here for English podcast)

Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

My Listening

The assignment from the Lord to me today is  "Don't against sound judgment"

Today's Proverbs is a serious warning to those loner who serves their own agenda and their own selfish ends. Why those people become such kind of "unfriendly" people? It's because they are against the good advice of their friends but instead stir up quarrels! How sad!

We can see how 2 Kings 10:32 starts with "In those days the Lord began to reduce the size of Israel". Why? Because when kings did not listen and obey to God and His appointed servants, God raised up enemies to attack them!

See how today's Psalm tells us that everything can be turned around into positive outcome when people turn back to God. God will be their rescuer, protector, strong deliverer and shield!

See how Psalm's passage become a reality to Paul as in today's Acts. Paul was not intimidated by those wicked people because God showed up and gave him confirmation that He will be with Paul and no one can harm him and that God has many people helping him in that city.

So, if anyone gives you "sound judgment", even you do not like to hear, even if that cause you to be angry, calm down and pray. Discern if that is a "sound judgment" from God through your friends!

             Don't against sound judgment!

      Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be always open to accept advice and warning from those you sent and help us to be able to discern whether they are being sent by you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

     Reflect on these questions:
    1. How good you are to welcome advice and warning?

2. Do you have anything to repent because you reject sound judgment from God recently?

     3. What have you got from Jesus today?

     Let us praise the Lord:
