Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word, Time with Abba (Psalm 118:22-29, Jeremiah 37:1-38:28; 1 Timothy 6:1-21, Proverbs 25:28)

Today's main passage:
But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 11 But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
                1 Timothy 6:6-12

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him.

My Listening
The topic I received today is: Do you want to have a great gain?

Chinese always talks about "to have a great gain", seems that the target and purpose of life for a kind of Chinese culture the past few thousands of years is:
To have money is the great contentment!

Paul teaches his disciple Timothy of what is great gain for the culture of Christians, the target and purpose of life for all Christians is:
To be Christlike is the great contentment!

What kind of target and purpose of life you are having now? How is God using you to help more people to leave that "To have money is the great contentment"culture into the Christian culture of "To be Christlike is the great contentment"?

Dear Abba Father,
Lead us to help more people to leave that "To have money is the great contentment"culture into the Christian culture of "To be Christlike is the great contentment". In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:

1. What kind of inspiration and invitation have you received from today's message ?

2. What is your next step to help more people to leave that "To have money is the great contentment"culture into the Christian culture of "To be Christlike is the great contentment"?

Family Corner:
