"Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning." Exodus 27: 20
What I got from Jesus today is: Is your lamp kept burning daily?
Jesus gave me a picture of our lives using what He says in Matthew 5: 14-16:
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
The light of the lampstand signifies the presence of God. That is the same meaning as we light up the candles on the altar. Whether your lamp can keep burning daily signifies whether Jesus is in you because He is the light so that we can be the light to shine before men that they can see our good deeds and praise our Father in heaven.
Is your lamp kept burning daily? Where can you get "clear oil" to keep your lamp burning?
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be able to get clear oil daily that our lamps can be kept burning. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
