Bible Study

As Christian leaders, we always face with lots of challenges. Two of the most frequent challenges are:
1. Do you really have the authority from Jesus Christ?
2. Is your message really from Jesus Christ?

Paul faces with the same situation when he writes the letter to the Galatians.

Bishop N.T. Wright says ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :

The key things Paul is talking about are apostleship and gospel. Grasp these, and the rest of the letter will start to make sense.

N.T. Wright. Paul for Everyone:Galatians and Thessalonians. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2004, p.5.

Paul has been challenged of where does he gets his apostleship from. He points out very clearly in today's passage it is from Jesus Himself and not from any human beings, just like the other apostles. Then the Galatians arguing about the need for circumcision for new Christians. Paul stands very firm that in Jesus' new family does not need circumcision.

Do you have similar situation in your church facing with these two challenges, the authority and the message? How do you deal with that?

What I heard from Jesus today is: How to deal with confusion?

What I got from Jesus today is a kind of situation always happens in churches since the Early Church. Good leaders are always being challenged of their authority just like Paul. Good teachers are always being attacked by those who accuse them of giving the wrong message.

What should we do?

Well, stay focus this coming 22 days with Paul to see how he deals with the Galatians and you may get some wisdom to deal with those confusion. Anyway, the best way is to trust in Jesus and stay focus in Jesus and the Gospel. Then, you should be fine.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Lead us to be able to face with all kinds of challenges because we are willing to stay focus on you and to be with you each day. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
