Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

Remember the wondrous works that he has done,
his miracles, and the judgments he uttered,
O offspring of Abraham, his servant,
children of Jacob, his chosen ones!

                            Psalm 105:5-6

Confession and Repentance

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Deuteronomy 31:1-8)

English(ESV): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Deuteronomy 31&version=ESV

So Moses continued to speak these words to all Israel. And he said to them, “I am120 years old today. I am no longer able to go out and come in. The Lord has said to me,‘You shall not go over this Jordan.’ The Lord your God himself will go over before you. He will destroy these nations before you, so that you shall dispossess them, and Joshua will go over at your head, as the Lord has spoken. And the Lord will do to them as he did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land, when he destroyed them. And the Lord will give them over to you, and you shall do to them according to the whole commandment that I have commanded you. Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
                                                Deuteronomy 31: 1-8

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening

Moses summoned the Israelites and Joshua, telling them to be strong and courageous so that they could enter into the Promised Land. If you were Joshua, or any of those Israelites, would you trust Moses' words?

When your pastor or someone tells you something like that, would you trust their words? I think you need confirmation. You need confirmation from the Lord so that you can be strong and courageous to take action on something you are unable to do yourself.

Jesus reminds me today to turn to Joshua chapter one that Joshua got his confirmation from God after Moses died. God told Joshua two times using the words exactly as Moses told Joshua, "Be strong and courageous!"

Pray now asking God whether there is something He wants you to do beyond your own capacity and ability. Wait for God the coming few days for confirmation, especially the word "Be strong and courageous"! If you trust me to do this simple prayer, you will be raised to a new level serving God in a new way!

I got confirmation to copy the Bible from God last Monday when I was in Hong Kong, and I have been doing that starting from Genesis.

I got confirmation to use Rev. Dr. Abraham Poon's Time with Abba reading list from God last Saturday, and I started to use that yesterday.

I think this is your turn to ask the Lord if He has something for you to do now.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be willing to seek for your new direction and to be strong and courageous to do it.  In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. Do you think God is calling you to do something beyond your capacity and ability? How can you get confirmation that this call is from God?

2. If you receive your confirmation, do you think you can be strong and courageous to do what God calls you?
