Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

    Praise the Lord!
Oh give thanks to the Lordfor he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever!

         Psalm 106:1

Confession and Repentance

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him. So the people of Israel obeyed him and did as the Lord had commanded Moses.
                           Deuteronomy 34: 9

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening

Do you know the importance of Moses laying hands on Joshua? According to today's passage, the fruit of Moses laying hands on Joshua is that he was full of the spirit of wisdom and that the Israelites obeyed him as they obeyed Moses.

There are not many Christians understand the power of laying on of hands. There are even less Christians have the urge to receive laying on of hands by anointed servants of God. I know and I try all my best to ask anointed servants of God to lay hands on me since the 80s. I remember the first one I started this practice to ask servants of God to lay hands on me was Richard Foster, then John Stott, then Archbishop Yong Ping Chung, then many, many more. Every time when I sense God prepares me with someone to lay hands on me, I will kneel down and ask that servant of God to lay hands on me. It is always so wonderful that can't be expressed in words.

I think this is the time for you to start doing that so that you can be filled by the Holy Spirit in a very special way, freshly anointed to have the wisdom, gifts and power of the Holy Spirit to do God's mighty work.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to start asking God's anointed servants to lay hands on us as often as we can.  In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. What have you learned today? Are you going to start doing that to ask God's servants to lay hands on you as often as you can?

2. What have you got from Jesus today?
