How can the last good King of Judah who initiated the last reform, a good and great reform died so suddenly like that. What happened!
I think if you just read 2 Kings, you don't know. But, when I put 2 Chronicles here, you know what happen.

The very factors that initially facilitated Josiah's reformation were eventually invalid in bringing about his death…Second Chronicles 35 is clear that this involved an act of disobedience to God. Hudah had promised that Josiah would die in peace. Perhaps he has forfeited the promise by his disobedience.

You listen and obey to God, renewal comes to your life and God can use you to change others life, even the whole nation. You disobey to God, you may be finished in a short period of time. In Chinese tradition, we have a saying for tyranny's cruel "Those who obey to me live, those who disobey die." Do you know sometimes God will do this to some disobedience servants of God. Wow! Scary! Watch out!
Why? Because when you are away from God and you become stubborn, stone heart, self-certre, pride, without discernment and insist on doing things you own way, my way and not God's way, you may suffer a lot because of your disobedience or you even will die in a short while! Do you know that could happen to anyone, not only the mighty good king Josiah?
Let's humble ourselves and ask for God's forgiveness of our weaknesses and sins and that we can return to God so that we can be able to discern God's will and not like King Josiah, making wrong deadly decision!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to know that you are the One who we have to listen and obey. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
