Silence
1. Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2. Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.
Praise and Thanksgiving
1. Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2. Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
2. Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

My Listening
The topic I received from Jesus is: "God examines you every morning to see whether He is your shield and rampart! "
Today's message seems the third part of a message Jesus wants you to receive:
August 22 - "God examines you every morning to see whether He is your shield and rampart! "
Well, the image I received from Jesus now is somewhat like you go to see your family doctor and he examines you to see whether you are healthy or not. One of the protection for us to be healthy is our immune system. And, when your immune system collapse, then you would be in great trouble!
Today's message seems the third part of a message Jesus wants you to receive:
August 20 - "God is my Home! Sorrow to joy, danger to secure!"
August 21 - "Who could make you homeless, always crave for more?"
Well, the image I received from Jesus now is somewhat like you go to see your family doctor and he examines you to see whether you are healthy or not. One of the protection for us to be healthy is our immune system. And, when your immune system collapse, then you would be in great trouble!
That's how I understand today's Psalm 91:4 "his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart."
Do you know what a "rampart" is? Let me show you this picture and you will know that rampart according to Oxford dictionary is "defensive wall round a fort."
Wow! God is your dwelling place, that's from Psalm 90:1 and the key message two days ago. Your dwelling place is actually a fort, a castle. If you stay at Home and not run away, you will be inside His shield and His rampart!
Yesterday we started to read the book of Job and we can see that Job was being examined by God whether he was in God, at Home, inside God's shield and rampart.
Yes, it's not easy for such kind of test of what Job went through, but because Job never ran away from God and when that examination, that test came, he was protected by God's shield and rampart that he passed the test at last!
So, what you have to do is to be ready every morning to pass God's examination and test that you are in Him, at Home, in His fort and castle and that you will be protected by His shield and rampart!
Praise the Lord!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for being our Home, our fort, our castle, our shield and our rampart. Help us to pass your examination every morning and every moment that we are in you and not away from you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Reflect on these questions:
1. How have you received the image of "rampart"? What does that mean to you?
2. What is your next step to secure yourself in God each day that you can pass that daily morning examination?
3. What have you received from Jesus today?
Praise and Thanksgiving
