OT DAY 151 - Sexual Sins Will Destroy You And Your Family (請按此處收聼廣東話 )

On Feb. 18 Ash Wednesday(first day of Lent), I am going to put my newly revised 40 days Break.Build blog and podcast to this blog and podcast for 40 days. This is to encourage you to find one to two friends to be their discipler to walk with them for 40 days having daily devotion. Hopefully they can establish a lifestyle to have a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus from then on. There will be a blog written in Chinese that I have never tried before. Please pray for this 40 days Break.Build and be willing to be raised up by our Lord Jesus Christ to be one of the disciplers to lead people to Him daily.

Let us praise the Lord:

Come and see what God has done:
    he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.
6 He turned the sea into dry land;
    they passed through the river on foot.
There did we rejoice in him,
7     who rules by his might forever,
whose eyes keep watch on the nations—

Bible Study

The seventh Commandment forbids sexual sins. Those kind of temptations are so close to each one of us surrounding us. To some people it is like gambling or on drugs which become addiction and never can pull out of it destroying self, family and beyond.

Let's take a look at what Professor John Goldingay says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

They are not to have affairs. That is another reality of life in Israel as in the church and in society. It again imperils the family and thus the society. For all the excitement, fulfillment, and affirmation that a man can find in an affair, it is off limits.

Do you have such kind of sins and addiction? How can you help someone trapped by this kind of sin?

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Sexual sins will destroy you and your family

What I receive from Jesus today is a serious warning that most people including Christians underestimate. Money, power and sex are three main areas Satan put his full force to attack.

What I receive from Jesus now is His Word from the Sermon on the Mount. Matthew 5: 27-32

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell.

31 “It was also said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’32 But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery."

So, according to how Jesus explains this Commandment, are you more aware of Satan's next attack? You can't win over your sexual desire and lust, you need to ask Jesus to help you because only Jesus can win over Satan, not you!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to understand we need you each day so that we can live a holy life building up ourselves, our families, our churches, our society and our nations. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
