OT DAY 156 - Want God's Blessings? (請按此處收聼廣東話 )

On Feb. 18 Ash Wednesday(first day of Lent), I am going to put my newly revised 40 days Break.Build blog and podcast to this blog and podcast for 40 days. This is to encourage you to find one to two friends to be their discipler to walk with them for 40 days having daily devotion. Hopefully they can establish a lifestyle to have a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus from then on. There will be a blog written in Chinese that I have never tried before. Please pray for this 40 days Break.Build and be willing to be raised up by our Lord Jesus Christ to be one of the disciplers to lead people to Him daily.

Let us praise the Lord:

Let the peoples praise you, O God;
    let all the peoples praise you!
Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,
    for you judge the peoples with equity
    and guide the nations upon earth.

Today's Reading: Exodus 20:22-26

Bible Study

      The powerful scene in yesterday's passage is to let all the Israelites to see God spoke to them from heaven. They should be ready to totally obey God's Commandments after all those miraculous acts of God they have experienced. They should be ready to let God be God, their top No. 1 in their lives and to be able to honour God as their top No. 1 thing to do on earth.

     The first thing God talks about as a sign to let God be God is the altar and the offerings. So, what have you got from God's saying in today's passage? You want God's blessings, right? What does God say so that we can be blessed by God in today's passage?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to Felix Mendelssohn's On Wings of Song played by one of the greatest violinist Isaac Stern:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Yj3RSxZmBQ

    The title I heard from Jesus today is: Want God's blessings?

    What I receive from Jesus today is a clue to enjoy a life full of God's blessings. Two key words: Altar and offerings.

    If you really live out the first four Commandments of your relationship with God to let God be God, you got to do two things:
1. The altar: God says "Make an altar of earth for me". What does that means to you? For me is to worship God whenever there is a worship or a church wide prayer meeting in our church. Then, plant more churches that we can build more altars to worship God. How frequent are you in joining your home church's Sunday worship and weekly prayer meeting? How much effort have you given to help your pastors to plant new churches?

2. Your offerings: Your tithing and beyond to your home church and other Christian ministries that God's Name will be honoured.

Dear Lord Jesus,
We desperately want your blessings. Lead us to do our best to be in our home churches' Sunday worship and prayer meetings. Help us to practice tithing and other offerings that Your Name will be honoured. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
