DAY 136 (2018) - You have no room for my word! (Please click here for English podcast)

Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

 My Listening
The message I got today from our Lord Jesus Christ is: "You have no room for my word!"

Do you have room for Jesus' Word?

Recently I met a brother who has not been to church for some time. I asked, "Do you have time tomorrow to come back to church?" He said, "If I have time, I will." Of course he did not come!

That's how Jesus told the Jews they didn't have room for His word, for His presence because their father was the devil and not the Heavenly Father. The Jews had room for all the wicked desires their father, the devil gave them, including lies, anger, lust, greed ...and as Jesus said, they wanted to carry out those evil desires and actions.

Just like what we read from 1 Samuel:7-16, Saul was being anointed by God as King of Israel, but when he had no room for God's word, ignoring Samuel's warning and then when his "room" was full of envy and wrath, he was heading to the path of destruction! That's the consequence of God not with him.

On the other hand, we see how David had room for God's Word and presence and that "everything he did he had great success"(1 Samuel 18:14)

Do you have room for Jesus' Word and Presence?

     Dear Lord Jesus,
Open our hearts to remove all those filling up our soul that we do not have room for you so that we can be able to hear your voice, enjoy to be with you each day. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

      Reflect on these questions:
   1.  Do you have room for Jesus' Word and Presence?

    2.  What are those things obstructing you that you have no room for Jesus?

     3. What have you received from Jesus today?

    Praise and Thanksgiving
Let's give thanks for God with us. Let us praise Him:
