2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word, Time with Abba (Psalm 145:8-13; 2 Kings 2:18-4:4; Acts 24:1-27, Proverbs 18:16-18)

Today's main passage:
      These were the sons of David born to him in Hebron:
The firstborn was Amnon the son of Ahinoam of Jezreel;
the second, Daniel the son of Abigail of Carmel;
the third, Absalom the son of Maakah daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;
the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith;
the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital;
and the sixth, Ithream, by his wife Eglah.
These six were born to David in Hebron, where he reigned seven years and six months.
David reigned in Jerusalem thirty-three years, and these were the children born to him there:
Shammua, Shobab, Nathan and Solomon. These four were by Bathsheba daughter of Ammiel.   1 Chronicles 3:1-5

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him.

My Listening
Today's Time with Abba leads me to think of one person: Absalom!

So often we do not understand why Absalom could be so cruel to kill his own elder brother Amnon, then ran to his grandfather's kingdom three years until David forgave him and accepted him again. He then gathered lots of people to follow him and then wanted to kill his father. Why he could be that evil and wicked?

Today's passage of 1 Chronicles 3:2 inspires me of his being in a royal family because his mother was the daughter of a king, he was being called the most handsome man, his father was a king, his grandfather on his mother side was a king. He had nothing to fear and he wanted to be the top of the world and at last he got his own consequence to be killed!

May you know that Jesus is Lord, don't ever follow Absalom's footstep to strive to be the king and the lord!

Remember, you are Jesus' servant, not a lord, Jesus is Lord!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us not to follow Absalom's footstep and be willing to be your faithful servant. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. What kind of inspiration and warning have you received from today's message ?

2. What is the next one step for you not to follow Absalom's footstep and be willing to be Jesus' faithful servant?

Family Corner:
Find an opportunity to share with your family the importance of not to follow Absalom's footstep and be willing to be Jesus' faithful servant.
