Bible Study

This passage tells us why we need the Holy Spirit:
1. People will be discouraged and go astray because we are being kicked out or killed in the name of God.

2. We need the Holy Spirit to reveal our sins including why we go astray. Without the Holy Spirit we would fall into deep misunderstanding when we are being attacked by people who are our own Christian friends or even Christian leaders.

3. In responding to the Holy Spirit's work to reveal and convict what's wrong in us, we have a better chance to get away from those darkness being attacked by our own people and friends. We have a better chance not letting those darkness touch our soul so that we fall into darkness.

What have you got from this passage?

Have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

Spiritual Journal

What I heard from Jesus today is: Why you need the Holy Spirit?

Jesus gives us a very simple and direct question and the answer is not difficult. We need the Holy Spirit because we have no way to win that veil of darkness and discouragement when we are being attacked by our own people in the name of God!

We need to love in the name of God but not to kill in the name of God!

Dear Holy Spirit,
Shine forth your light on us that we can see our own sins, repent and get back to your light worship our Lord as our King and Lord of life. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
