This passage is so heavy and so full of meaning! I am shock and thankful after I read this passage and N.T. Wright's write-up. His catch is really so meaningful:
The story of Adam in the garden, in Genesis 2 and 3, stands behind the garden of betrayal in this chapter as well as the garden of Easter in chapter 20. John is, after all, writing a kind of 'new Geneses', as we saw at the beginning...
The roles are reversed. Sinful men, violent men, men with weapons, come to the garden in the dark, looking for someone. The someone who was the father's only son. Like all humans, they are looking for God, but they don't know that's what they are doing. They think they are only doing their job...
Jesus doesn't hide. He has no reason to. The father has given him a cup to drink, and he's going to drink it...He is ready. The new Adam steps forward to meet the old...
The true high priest will be sent to his death by the false one, so that through his death God will rescue his people. The true Adam will be sent to his death by the false ones, so that the garden may be restored, and instead of bloodshed there may be healing and forgiveness.
Do you know how much Jesus loves you that He died on the Cross for you in order that everything will be restored, healed and forgiven? So that you do not live in sin and being captured by the king of this world anymore but to be free and be able to live a real life?
Have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: Your only chance is Jesus!
My heart is so heavy now when I read this passage and what N.T. Wright says. Yes, our only chance to live a real and full life is Jesus!
There is no hope for us to get away from the trap Satan sets for us just like he did that to Adam in the very beginning . Judas stepped into that trap, betrayed his beloved lord and teacher. And Satan just wants to do it again and again to make us an old Adam and Judas.
Yes, Jesus is the new Adam to reverse everything into the right order. He paid a great price by dying for us. He calls you to let him step forward to win Satan from now on because you are not able to win this cunning and powerful ex-Archangel. He calls you to be prepare to be betrayed and to be willing to give even giving all like what He did so that someone will be healed and forgiven, so that something will be restored into the right order according to God's purpose!
Are you willing? I am! How about you?
Dear Lord Jesus,
I am willing Lord Jesus! I am willing to offer everything to you. Help me to live that out. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
