DAY 702 - Don't Drift Away (請按此處收聼廣東話Cantonese podcast click here)

Four years ago today, April 9, 2010, Michelle went to see her family doctor and was told that she got leukaemia. She was admitted to Vancouver General Hospital the next morning (http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2010/04/day-234-my-wife-michelle-has-leukemia.html ). Michelle is not feeling well lately!  Her family doctor is now having a series of check-up for her to see what is happening. On this day, I would like to invite you to join us in a 100 days of prayer (From April 9 to July 17) for Michelle, our family and my ministry. Please click this link to join us to pray:

What you need to do is very simple. Choose one hour slot for the whole week to pray for Michelle, our family and my ministry. You may use the whole hour in prayer or you can still do you work in your office but use as much time as you can to pray and the other time work prayerfully that hour to pray for us. I encourage you to participate. We need you to join us! Trust in the power of prayers!

Bible Study

     The author gives a warning to his readers not to drift away from the message and presence of our Lord and King. We need to pay full attention to the Gospel as much as we can. 

Bishop N.T. Wright says ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :
      What evidence is there in your own life, and in your church, that the gospel message of Jesus is true and powerful?  If you find that question difficult to answer, could it be because you or your church have begun to drift, ignoring the royal message to which you should be paying closer attention?

     What kind of message do you pay full attention to each day? Have you been drifting away from the Gospel because you pay attention to other things and people rather than Jesus?

    The title I heard from Jesus today is: Don't drift away

    The message I got from Jesus today is a warning to us not to drift away from the Kingdom and the King, our Lord Jesus Christ. Do you remember the time when you were on fire using everything you have got to be more teachable and available to everything concerns with Jesus. You won't stop going to church. You join quite a number of classes wanting to learn more about Jesus. You enjoy your time in your fellowship. You try your best to serve in various ministries. When was that? How about now?

    But, suddenly, you slow down. Why? Busy, not feeling well, and all kinds of excuses. That's how we drift away, slowly and slowly, until we are no more Kingdom people. The sad thing is, we still think that we are a Christian, but we do not have any connection with our King and we don't care about His Kingdom or any of His order.

     Don't drift away! Come home! 

Dear Lord Jesus,
Open our eyes so that we know whether we are drifting away from you. Lead us home to be with you each day. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
