DAY 705 - Let Jesus Builds His House (請按此處收聼廣東話Cantonese podcast click here)

Four years ago today, April 9, 2010, Michelle went to see her family doctor and was told that she got leukaemia. She was admitted to Vancouver General Hospital the next morning (http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2010/04/day-234-my-wife-michelle-has-leukemia.html ). Michelle is not feeling well lately!  Her family doctor is now having a series of check-up for her to see what is happening. On this day, I would like to invite you to join us in a 100 days of prayer (From April 9 to July 17) for Michelle, our family and my ministry. Please click this link to join us to pray:
New 100 Days Prayer Campaign (2014.04.09-2014.07.17)

What you need to do is very simple. Choose one hour slot for the whole week to pray for Michelle, our family and my ministry. You may use the whole hour in prayer or you can still do you work in your office but use as much time as you can to pray and the other time work prayerfully that hour to pray for us. I encourage you to participate. We need you to join us! Trust in the power of prayers!

Bible Study

The author of Hebrew starts this book with Jesus is superior to the angels and Jesus is our oldest brother. Now, in today's passage, he tells us that Jesus is superior than Moses. We are Jesus house and He is the builder. We have to let Jesus to build His own house.

Bishop N.T. Wright says ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :
Moses matters, says Hebrews, but Jesus matters even more; Moses was a true servant of God, but Jesus is God's son.  You don't diminish Moses by making Jesus superior to him; you give him his rightful place, which is a place of honour even though its not the supreme honour
Most first-century Jews, faced with the idea of 'God's house', would think at once of the Temple.  But Hebrews, again like Paul, and also like some other radical Jewish groups of the period, thought of the true 'house' not as a building of bricks and mortar but as a community of people.
The people who make up this house are described in verse 6 as a bold, confident family.

N.T. Wright. Hebrews for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2004, p.23, 25.

Do you allow Jesus to build His own house? Do you know His own house is you, and people of your church?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

Spiritual Journal

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Let Jesus builds His house

The message I got from Jesus today is a question as well as an invitation.

The question is that whether you know that you are Jesus' house and whether you allow Jesus to build His own house. I think most Christians use all kinds of people and resources to build up their spiritual lives so that they can be mature Christians and because of that their church becomes a 'bold, confident family'. But, where is Jesus in that building process?
What could the difference be if we allow Jesus to be the actual builder and not the pastors, leaders, famous speakers, resources etc.
Who is the main builder of you as Jesus house actually?

Let Jesus to build His house please!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for being our oldest brother and our builder. Help us to be able to allow you to build your own house so that we can be more and more mature and become a bold and confident family belonging to you.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
