DAY 707 - Who Is It That God Is Angry with? (請按此處收聼廣東話Cantonese podcast click here)

Four years ago today, April 9, 2010, Michelle went to see her family doctor and was told that she got leukaemia. She was admitted to Vancouver General Hospital the next morning (http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2010/04/day-234-my-wife-michelle-has-leukemia.html ). Michelle is not feeling well lately!  Her family doctor is now having a series of check-up for her to see what is happening. On this day, I would like to invite you to join us in a 100 days of prayer (From April 9 to July 17) for Michelle, our family and my ministry. Please click this link to join us to pray:
New 100 Days Prayer Campaign (2014.04.09-2014.07.17)

What you need to do is very simple. Choose one hour slot for the whole week to pray for Michelle, our family and my ministry. You may use the whole hour in prayer or you can still do you work in your office but use as much time as you can to pray and the other time work prayerfully that hour to pray for us. I encourage you to participate. We need you to join us! Trust in the power of prayers!

Bible Study

Who was that God was angry with in yesterday and today's passage? The Gentiles, pagans, or people who are evil? No, they were God's own people, the Israelites.

Bishop N.T. Wright says ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :
And who was it that God was angry with?
It was his own people, who had gone against his word, who heard what he said and did the opposite.  Again, the writer is insisting: this warning isn't for the person standing next to you.  It's for you. Yes, you.
And, finally, what matters is continuing to believe.  Many of the people in the wilderness simply stopped believing that God was really with them, really leading them.  Again and again they accused Moses of simply tricking them so that he could lead them where he wanted…That's the ever-present danger which faced Christians in the first century, and which faces us today as well.  Once you stop believing either in the God who called you, rescued you and guides you, or in the future he has promised you, you may simply go round and round in the wilderness and never get anywhere.

N.T. Wright. Hebrews for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2004, p.33.

Have you entered into His rest daily and that you are walking closely with Jesus daily? Or, are you just simply going round and round in your wilderness and never get anywhere? Who is that God is angry with?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Who is that God is angry with?

The message I got from Jesus today is a terrible question. Of course you do not want to hear the answer that God is angry with you. But, in reality, if we stop believing in God's guidance and be willing to be led by Jesus daily, we will surely going round and round in our own created wilderness going nowhere and without rest. Are you in God's rest? Are you in peace each day?

Who is it that God is angry with? Is that you?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to trust you and believe in you totally that we can enter into your rest and that we are able to rest in peace each day. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
