Bible Study

     What is John talking about? Super-locusts? Some people in nowadays think of an attack helicopter or similar military machine to kill people. Is that so?

Let's take a look at what Bishop N.T. Wright says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :

     The point is the nightmare: all your worst dreams realized in an instant.  The fifth angel has unleashed something truly monsters, truly hellish…
     As with the plagues of Egypt, so we must assume that the aim here is to challenge the inhabitants of the earth to repent.  This point eventually emerges in verses 20 and 21, which function somewhat like the comments in Exodus about Pharaoh and his court though they saw the plagues, they hardened their hearts, until eventually the writer declares that God himself had hardened their hearts, to make them all the more ready for the judgment when it finally came…
     Throughout the vision John wants his readers to know that God and the lamb remain sovereign, even though for evil to be finally conquered it has to be allowed to come out into the open and do its worst.

      When this kind of disaster happen, do you think you still have the faith that God and the lamb remain sovereign? Do you think you still can be with Jesus facing those challenges you are not able to face as a human being?

    The title I heard from Jesus today is: Super-locusts attack?

    What I got from Jesus today is a life challenge. Are you in the midst of super-locusts attack? Recently I have quite a number of people requesting my help in all kinds of possible ways. What they are facing is beyond what I can help like: severe sickness and health problem, depression, serious problem with family members and friends, have not received salary for a month and more. That could be a kind of super-locusts attack. Though the coming super-locusts attack is beyond what we can think of. But, the result is the same: to draw sinful people to repentance and to give challenge to God's faithful servants to stand firm to face those attacks courageously. 

    You have to know that you can't do that, only if you are willing to be with Jesus each day that you can do that. Why? Because only He can win the Destroyer's attack, not you! Remember that! Don't think that you are Rambo! 

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be willing to stay close to you daily so that we can be able to face the face the super-locusts attack when they come.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
