Bible Study

Today's passage is about the last three plagues. A time of too late to repent. A scene of total destruction of wickedness. God is truly in total reign and control.

Let's take a look at what Bishop N.T. Wright says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :

These final three plagues, which complete the sequence of the seven bowls, are terrible indeed, and part of their terror is the sense of how easy it is to give allegiance to the systems that are here under judgment.  As with the seals and the trumpets, the first four seem to belong to one set, and the last three to another.  Unlike the seals and the trumpets, however  there is no gap, no pause, between the sixth and the seventh, just as there is no chance, now, of further time for repentance
What then about 'Mount Megiddo'? … John's point is simply that all the powers of evil must be brought to one place, so that they can be dealt with there…We should no more try to locate John's Mount Megiddo on a map than we should try to produce an exact sequential chronology of all the events he describes, here and in the rest of the book.

N.T. Wright. Revelation for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2011, p.147-148.

We have quite a number of books and movies using the name "Armageddon" giving people to have a terrible picture of the end of the world. What do you think is the main message John's wants to give to you?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Armageddon! Piece of cake!

What I receive today is a funny message. Since thousands of years ago the world has been going through so many wars and destruction. The powers of evil is so difficult to deal with. And yet, God allows that to happen so that those powers of evil reap their own fruit of destruction. Then, in God's time, his judgment will come in the most unexpected timing. His way of dealing with the most difficult issues of evil kingdoms and power is just a piece of cake. When that time comes, those who have not repent have no chance to repent and God's final work will be done right away.

That's how we should trust in God's total sovereignty and His mighty power. Yesterday, Michelle and I had a chance to have the first site visit with the Chairman and Vice-Chairman and three directors(I am one of the seven directors) of Vintage Garden project to walk through all twelve levels of our newly completed building. This is truly a God-led Kingdom vision project. This first phase of 184 units of Senior condos of a total cost of 70 million Canadian dollars is completed. Praise the Lord! Residence will move in next April. And, half of the new building our Toronto Emmanuel Church will also be completed next April. Our Second phase will start next year of another 230 units with a community centre. It is like a big dream comes true and it is truly God's mighty work with the willingness of just a few faithful leaders to be used by God.

Please take a look at the pictures I took yesterday.

God is good! All the time!
All the time!  God is good!
     Praise the Lord!  Alleluia!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to understand that in you nothing is impossible. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
