Bible Study

Many people over many centuries think that Genesis 1 is not scientific, so people should not believe in that kind of false knowledge and information. In fact, Genesis 1 is never scientific and it is not for human to proof through our modern knowledge that the cosmos is not like that.  In fact, Genesis 1 is  a "gospel story, a story containing good news" as said by Professor John Goldingay.

Let's take a look at what Professor John Goldingay says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

There are lots of repetitions in this story, such as "God said" and "so it came to be." Some draw attention to key facts about the way God made the world, such as God's creating by speaking and the ease with which things came about in response to God's word
God speaks, then speaks again, and each time - proof - the thing happens
And once again this creation story in Genesis exists not merely to give people information about something that happened way back then but to offer good news in the here and now.  Genesis 1 is a gospel story, a story containing good news.

This dark world needs to know that when God speaks, light comes and when God speaks, things just happen and will be done, accomplished. Do you believe that? Have you experienced that?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

The title I heard from Jesus today is: When God speaks, things done

What I receive from Jesus today is such an assurance that we all so need. If you have someone your trust and have that kind of power, why you have to be afraid of anything. You just go to that person and that person look at you and said, "Don't worry. I can take care of it." And when you walk out of that person's office, thing done, accomplished. Is there anyone on earth who can do this? Well, I don't think so. Human beings do not have that kind of power and ability, only God can.

The reality and the sad story is, many people are still dreaming and thinking that they have those kind of high-power people to protect them and give them what they want, but never come to God.

Jesus reminds me now of Psalm 23:1 "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want." It says so clearly in the Bible, Psalm 23 is just one of many examples that God is the only one who can say things and things be done.

What kind of things you are worrying now? What kind of things you want so desperately now? Why don't you draw close to God each day and let Him speaks to you trusting that if those things are according to God's will, when He speaks, things done.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to draw near to you each day and to listen to you. Help us to believe and to be able to experience when you speak, things will be accomplished. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
