Bible Study

     Last passage we talk about the blessings and fruit of walking with God as in Enoch's life, today's passage switch to the opposite picture. Some people think that those sons of God are angels but in fact they were not. They were human beings. But, they were men who did bad things and they abused women. 

Let's take a look at what Professor John Goldingay says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

    

     Whether the "sons" in this story are human or supernatural, their action in "taking" these women and having sex with them brings to a culmination the story of resistance to God's vision for the world.  The story thus leads into God's decision to abort the whole project.  The first stage in that is the apparent decision to put humanity on 120 years notice.  For a while God will thus be waiting patiently (as 2 Peters 4 puts it).  God is always delaying taking action against wrongdoing, hoping against hope that created beings will turn back from their waywardness, but this period of waiting has to come to an end…
     "The fallen" are another enigmatic group of characters in this passage.  Translations usually transliterate the description of them as the Nephilim.  The only other place they appear is Numbers 13, where the word is a title for some of the inhabitants of Canaan who scare the the Israelite spies when they are scouting out the lay of the land before the Israelites invade Canaan.  They were big guys, beside whom the Israelites felt like grasshoppers. Here, their description as renowned champions fits that.

      Have you got a new understanding to this passage today? Do you know the difference between a daily walk with God or a daily walk with the Devil now? The result is totally different!

    The title I heard from Jesus today is: The consequence of walking with the Devil

    The message I receive from Jesus today is a clear picture of why do we need to have a daily walk with God. Because if not, we might turn to the dark side without even knowing we are on the dark side.

    In today's passage, we can see clearly the consequence of walking with the Devil in the dark side like ignoring God's command and warning, full of bad intention, abuse, sexual misconduct, killing God's people and more. And, we can see the deadly consequence in tomorrow's passage of the building of the Noah's Ark because everybody died, except eight people of Noah's family! Take God's warning and repent before it is too late!

    Take a walk with Jesus daily so that He can protect you from being grasped by the dark side.

    Take a walk with Jesus daily so that Jesus can discipled you to save more people not to walk with the Devil but to walk with Him! 

    Encourage more people to be disciplers like what Greg and me have been doing. People are lazy and weak, they need disciplers so that they can establish a lifestyle to walk with Jesus daily.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Lead us to have a daily walk with you so that we won't suffer the consequence of walking with the devil.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
