Silence
1. Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2. Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.
Praise and Thanksgiving
1. Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2. Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
2. Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

My Listening
The message I got today from our Lord Jesus Christ is a challenging choice for you: "Are you a religious people or a Christian?"
What I received from Jesus in today's is a life or death challenging question that He has been challenging me for the past few months.
Praise the Lord that I have got an answer at last today.
What kind of answer? Well, the past few months I have been challenging quite a number of people I know through daily devotion, Bible study groups and my Sunday sermons of one question and that is the theme today:
Are you a religious people or a Christian?
Well, in brief form what I received from Jesus is this:
What is religious people?
Worshipping a dead and past tense god.
What is a Christian?
Worshipping and following a Living God!
We can see in today's Judges of how faithful and powerful Gideon was when he followed God whole-heartedly. And, God led him to have total victory no matter how strong his enemies were!
But, we can also notice that after his victory he had so many wives and the son of his concubine killed all his 70 sons! How come? Is that Gideon's "lust"?
I think "lust" killed Gideon's family and led those Israelites "again prostituted themselves to Baals(Judges 8:33)
Psalm 61:1-4 leads a sadden soul, the Psalmist from worshipping a past tense God to a present tense God and that he had his future in God's hand, not in deep mud any more.
Today's Luke also leads us to know the difference of how important it is that our Jesus is risen and we should not "look for the living among the dead"(Luke 24: 5)
So, are you worshipping and following a Living God daily?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Challenge us today that we have to make sure we have a daily intimate relationship with you so that we are not religious people but true Christians, faithful disciples of you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Reflect on these questions:
1. Do you think you are one of those religious people living in the past tense of knowing God? If you are, how can you repent and ask Jesus to be with you leading you each day to be a faithful disciple of Him and following Him each day?
2. How can you make sure that your spiritual journal with Jesus is a present continuous tense and not in past tense?
3. What have you received from Jesus today?
3. What have you received from Jesus today?
