Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word, Time with Abba (Psalm 130:1-4; 1 Kings 5:1-6:38; Acts 7:1-29, Proverbs 16:28-30)

Today's main passage:
A perverse person stirs up conflict,
and a gossip separates close friends.        Proverbs 16:28

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him.

My Listening
Today's Proverbs 16:28 leads me to think of what Archbishop Masimango shared with us in the Summit two weeks ago. I am directly under him as one of his bishops. He talked about the meaning of his name "Masimango" and it means gossiping!

He told us that his father suspected the baby in his mother's womb did not belong to him. His mother was very angry, so when he was born she named him Masimango because his father's suspicion brought lots of gossips!

He had been painfully to bear this name but he was released and be free after he received Jesus as his Lord and King when he was fifteen years old. Now, he becomes a great leader in the Anglican Communion leading the whole Anglican Province of Congo with 600,000 Anglicans, 13 bishops, more than 250 priests and 450 churches!

May we as God's children would not spread rumours and gossiping, it brings lots of hurt and separate lots of good relationship. It is not worth to cause that separation and God does not like that!

     Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us not to gossip and spread rumours to hurt people and destroy the unity in our church In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. What kind of warning have you received from Jesus today?
2.  What is your action not to gossip or help people not to gossip?
