Verse one of this chapter tells us that all the top religion leaders reached a decision. And the decision was like they were all screaming, "In the name of God I kill you!"
Then Pilate came in the scene saying in the similar tone, "Alright, you want to kill him? Do it then."
In this combined force of religion leaders and government leader, Jesus was sentenced to death!
Have you taken part in this killing of Jesus in the name of God?
Have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to God as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: In the name of God I kill you!
Jesus reminds me many memories historically or from those I personally experienced. I have seen too many killing in so many churches that people kill their pastors and leaders in the name of God thinking that they had done a favour for Jesus!
I have seen so many pastors and leaders fall into a dark hole of discouragement, insecurity, hatred, hopelessness, and self-destruction because they were betrayed, accused, deserted and killed by those they knew well or they personally helped or trained. And most of them do think that they kill in the name of God!
Rise up soldiers, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you this real situation so that you can start praying for your pastors daily that they will be protected and blessed day after day.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us not to follow the example of killing you and your servants in the name of God. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
