When you read this blog or listen to the podcast, I am in Colorado with 5 ACNA bishops and 5 AMiA bishops(including me) on a 14,000 ft. mountain hiking retreat for eight days until next Wednesday. In order to give you my daily blogs and podcast, I am going to use a shorter form starting today until next Wednesday.
It's all about "Jealous"! If you were John the Baptist, do you think you will have that kind of jealousy most people have on Jesus success?
N.T. Wright says, "That's the image that John the Baptist draws on when he speaks cheerfully to his followers about the success that Jesus and his disciples seem to be having in baptizing people. John's followers seem to be assuming that he will be jealous."
I have seen jealousy distorted so many leaders and they live in pain, insecurity and darkness! Why can't we live peacefully appreciating each others gifts to do His Kingdom work? We are just "bridges" preparing the way for Jesus just as John the Baptist did. We are just the best man, only Jesus is the bridegroom!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be careful so that we won't fall into the trap of jealousy. It's only you, you are our Lord, our Savior and our King. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
