Lots of time, Christians think that it is the church, the small group, fellowship, the building, the structure which brings security and healing to them. Here we have someone who had been sick for 38 years thinking that a pool in the temple could heal him. He wasted lots of time and energy without anything happened!
Only Jesus can bring true healing!
Yesterday someone asked me, "When are we going to have our own building?" I have faced with the same question for many, many years! Do you think Richmond Emmanuel Church will be better off if we have our own building? Yes and No. Why? I have seen too many churches with a big and wonderful building but without people or torn inside their own structure. Does it means that I do not agree this is the time that REC will have our own building. Not at all! If this is God's time and it's good that we should try our best to have our own building. But, we need to discern real hard in order we do not receive the wrong message and timing.
It is not the building or anything which brings healing, growth and life, it is Jesus who bring everything to set a church "on fire"!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to know that you are the only one who brings us healing and every possible things we can ever think of. Help us to focus in you and not looking to other things. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
