Today's passage tells us another great miracle of how Jesus healed people, a paralytic. We can look at this miracle from various angles. Say, the faith of the paralytic's friends, or how picky was the Pharisees and the teachers who always wanted to find fault with Jesus. Or, you can look at the faith the paralytic had that he really stood up and took his mat and went home.
What have you got from today's passage? How does that related to you?
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: Who is enabling you to do what?
What I received today is very special because Jesus took me away from all those aspects I mentioned above and to a translation on verse 17 in N.T. Wright's Luke for everyone's version.
In NIV it is "And the power of the Lord was present for him to heal the sick."
In N.T. Wright's version it is "The power of the Lord was with Jesus, enabling him to heal."
Have you thought of that? Even Jesus needed to be enabled by the Lord in order that he could perform the healing. To me, the Lord means God or the Holy Spirit.
Do you know if you want to do God's work you need to be enabled by the Holy Spirit so that you can do what the Holy Spirit anointed you to do? How much do you aware of this special situation and how zealous you pray for that enabling, that anointing is the key for you to do God's work.
So, who is enabling you to do what? What's you answer?
Dear Holy Spirit,
Pour down your fresh anointing on us so that we can be enabled to do what the Lord prepares for us to do. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
