Bible Study
Today's passage concerning of the identity of two persons, Jesus and John the Baptist. Even John the Baptist wanted to have the confirmation from Jesus' mouth that he is the Messiah. Then Jesus brought out a question about John the Baptist, did people know who John the Baptist is?
So, who is Jesus to you? You have a personal relationship with your pastors, your leaders and the brothers and sisters of your church. That's for sure! But, do you really have a personal relationship with Jesus? An intimate one?
Can you identify who are those John the Baptist that the Lord put in your life to prepare for the way of Jesus to come to you?
How ready are you to take the role of John the Baptist to prepare the way for Jesus to enter into someone's heart?
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: Who is Jesus to you really?
What I received today from Jesus is not an easy question to answer. Why? Because almost every Christian thinks that we know Jesus. But what we really know are mostly people in our church and ministries we are working for Jesus. When I ask some people when they want to make a decision whether they need to do something for Jesus I usually say, "Have you asked Jesus does he wants you to do that? Are you sure that's from Jesus?" Most people do not know what I am talking about or even think that I am speaking on a rather high level and they are pretty low in a sense because they are not a pastor or a bishop!
We really need to know Jesus. Not only to know who Jesus is but to know Jesus. The same knowing as you know your family members, your father, your mother, your husband, your wife ...
John did not know who Jesus was, he was not sure. Jesus wants us to know who John the Baptist is so that we can accept those John the Baptist he prepares. Can you name a few John the Baptist who helped or have been helping you to prepare the way for Jesus into your life?
You need to know who Jesus is to you. You need to know who are those John the Baptist related to you? And, you need to be willing to become a John the Baptist to prepare the way for Jesus!
If you really know Jesus and be willing to be a John the Baptist then verse 22 will happen to your life, and that is: the blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.
Are you ready?
Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to enjoy our daily intimate personal relationship with you and prepare us to be a good John the Baptist to prepare the way for you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
