Today's passage gives us an example of what does it means by loving Jesus. The Pharisee who invited Jesus to his home did not show any love to Jesus forgiving and generous love. But the woman used everything a human beings could to show how much she was delighted that her sins were forgiven.
N.T. Wright says:
When we look closer at the detail of the story, one of the things we notice is the way in which Jesus turns the tables on the Pharisee. He is the one who is guilty of poor hospitality. the Pharisee has never come to terms with the depths of his own heart, and so doesn't appreciate God's generous love when it sits in person at his own table. For Luke, true faith is what happens when someone looks at Jesus and discovers God's forgiveness; and the sign and proof of this faith is love.
So, how much do you love Jesus? What have your done to show that you really love him?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: How much do you love me?
What I received today from Jesus is a question challenging us of our relationship with Jesus. If we say that we love him, then how much have we done to love him. The woman gives us a good example of what does that means.
1. Her offering: The alabaster jar of perfume with the cost of one year's of her wages.
2. Her delight in the forgiveness of her sins: That's how she acted like that with tears and various actions to show her deep feeling.
3. Her intimate relationship with Jesus: It shows how much she loved Jesus when she was loved by Jesus.
So, Jesus wants to ask you now, "How much do you love me?"
What's your answer? What's your actions to show that you really love him?
