Silence
1. Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2. Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.
Praise and Thanksgiving
1. Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2. Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
2. Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
The Word, Time with Abba (Psalm 111:1-10, Jeremiah 10:1-11:23; Colossians 3:18-4:18; Proverbs 24:28-29)
Today's main passage:
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.
Psalm 111:10
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to him.
My Listening
The topic I received from Jesus today is: Do you need to understand more before you believe in Jesus?
Lots of time when we have a chance to invite people to receive Jesus, they usually say, "Well, not now. Let me understand more before I believe. Wait!"
Many people wait for many years, or even their whole life! They waste lots of time in waiting and lost the chance to experience the presence of God, the peace and the blessing of eternal life.
That is not "believe" if you can figure out everything about Jesus!
To believe in Jesus is to pray to Him saying, "I believe, give me wisdom that I can understand, Lord Jesus!"
That's what today's Psalm 111:10 means. Our limited wisdom as compare to the unlimited God is nothing. What we can understand is only minimum in our whole lifetime. But, what we fear are a lot! We fear of no money, no health, no love! We fear of COVID-19, sickness, death...!
Today's Psalm 111:10 tells that if we fear of one thing and we won't fear anything. If we fear we do not have Jesus with us each day, if we fear we are not willing to listen to Jesus command, then I am very sure that you won't live in fear anymore!
Why? Because the presence of God will remove all fear in you and you will live each day praising God joyfully!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be able to experience your presence each day that we won't live in fear anymore but have the wisdom you give us to understand those things we are not able to understand and to enjoy each day praising you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Reflect on these questions:
1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?
2. What is your next step to be more closer to God?
