People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God - having a form of godliness but denying its power. 2 Timothy 3: 2-5
You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love,
endurance, persecutions, sufferings... But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have
become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy
you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in
Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3: 10 -11, 14-15
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in
righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3: 16
What I heard from Jesus today is: People will become lovers of themselves!
I have seen too many people become like what Paul says and it really hurt. How can people become like that? How can Christians and Christian leaders become like that? Today, once again my two blogs goes together. My title in my Devotion on Fire is "What do you want?" from Psalm 23. Without being willing to be with God everyday like sheep to be with their shepherd we want too many things. Always more and never end! That's how Paul describes people will become from verses 2 to 11. The opposite of Christlikeness and to oppose God's servants.
What do you want? To become lover of yourself or to become lover of the Bible and lover of Jesus?
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to become lover of the Bible and lover of you. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
