Bible Study
In yesterday's passage, Jesus told his disciples they needed not to know about those end time things because they would never understand. What they need to know is what their lifelong journey would look like the process of having a baby and when they approached their most painful moment would be the time of the birth pangs and the baby would be born!
In today's passage Jesus told them to look back to the prophecy of Daniel, which speaks of the coming disaster and also the eventual resurrection of all God's people.

N.T. Wright says:
Remember, the questions that dominate the chapter are: when is the Temple to be destroyed? When will Jesus be seen to be the Messiah? When will the present age be brought to its close? The answer here is: look back to Daniel, which speaks of all these things, and look out for the terrible time that's coming.
How can we have the courage to look out for the terrible time that's coming if we do not have an intimate personal relationship with Jesus? Who can help us when that terrible time happen?
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"
Spiritual Journal
What I heard from Jesus today is: How can you be ready to face suffering?
What I got from Jesus today is an invitation to equip ourselves so that when the time of suffering comes, we not only can survive but to thrive!
Today I received an email to know a high school classmate, Francis Kai's wife Lih has cancer. I wrote an email to him an hour ago to support him. He was the first high school classmate writing an email to me supporting me to go through our most difficult few weeks when Michelle got lukemia in April 2010.
We do not need to wait for the end time to come. The time of our suffering can come right away. And, if we are not ready, if we do not have Jesus with us each day, we can never get through those dark hours!
Please pray for Lih and Francis and their family. And, be ready for that time to come!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be ready for the time of suffering to come. Use us when that time come as your instrument to bring light, hope and life to other people honoring your mighty name. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
