Bible Study
This passage shows us the full result of Jesus death. N.T. Wright says:
The disciples, including the women watching from a distance, see only darkness, gloom and death. But Matthew's reader already knows what they will discover three days later: that this death was not the failure of Jesus to show himself as the son of God, but the way in which his identity, vocation and mission were confirmed and accomplished. As we join our voices with the centurion and others, in declaring that Jesus was indeed God's son, so we commit ourselves to living by that faith, and to learning every day, by looking at the son, more about the love of the father.
God's son died for our sins! Who can love us more other than Jesus dying for us?
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:
"For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8: 35-39
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
What I got from Jesus today is a very strong feeling of love. How he loves us and die for us. At that moment his disciples did not understand. But, what happened three days later changed their lives that nothing could separate them from the love of Jesus.
How much we feel about this love makes a difference of how much we can respond to his love. Gazing on Jesus at the Cross, what have you got today?
Dear Lord Jesus,
Open our eyes to see how much you love us that you die on the cross for us and that nothing shall separate us from your love. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
