Bible Study

This passage shows us how Jesus was buried and the heavy guard of Jesus body that Jesus was truly dead.  N.T. Wright points out the importance of this passage is that Jesus is truly dead and he is truly alive.  Bishop Wright says:
The crucial fact, the early church believed, was that Jesus had been bodily raised to life after being well and truly dead and buried.  This is what they announced to the startled world, the world of Jews and Gentiles.

What is the significance of Jesus is truly dead and truly alive to you?
On Christmas Day, we talk about Jesus truly dead and truly alive. It is so inappropriate, but so meaningful. Jesus came to be born as a truly human to save us, he was crucified, dead and bury, and he was risen. This is such a good news to those who are in darkness that they have a chance to enter in the Light.  If and only if they are willing to receive the Light!

     The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned...
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
      And he will be called
      Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.          Isaiah 9: 2, 6

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

Spiritual Journal

What I heard from Jesus today is: Truly Dead, Truly Alive!

What I got from Jesus today is a good news on Christmas Day!
There are so many people in darkness and hopelessness. Jesus went through all the darkness that any human could have, even death. Truly dead, truly alive!
Let's enter into the Light, to be with Him each day that we will never be pulled into darkness even go through the valley of the shadow of death!

     Thank you Lord Jesus!
     Merry Christmas!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us into a true fellowship with you each day that we would never be pulled by the Deceiver into darkness but enjoy your light and presence each day.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
