After Paul gives us a picture how we as human beings mess up God's purpose and how painful Paul was, he starts to tell God's love story with us.

    Bishop N.T. Wright's says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright):
From the very beginning God seems to have decided to work his strange purposes by means not only of choosing one family from of the whole human race, but by continuing that practice within the chosen family itself...
The first point is that the practice of selection, of God working his purposes through some and not others, was intended to continue past Jacob and on into the subsequent history of Israel...God's purpose was to act within history to deal with the problem of evil but this could only be done by employing a people who were themselves part of the problem, until the time was ripe for God's own son to emerge from their midst and, all alone, to take their destiny upon himself.
The second point is that this principle of selection, of God choosing to carry forward his plan by some rather than others, was done without regard for the moral character of the people involved...

So, here is God's love story with you. It all starts with His chosen people, the Israelites, but now to you because they do not want to be part of God's love story.

Are you willing to be in God's loving story?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: God's love story with us

What I got from Jesus today is a reminder that we are in God's love story. For thousands of years God includes us in this powerful love story. You did not choose God but God choose you to be part of His family.

Are you willing to be in this love story to be loved by God and enjoying the love of being in God's family each day?

    Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be willing to enter into your love story so that we can be part of your family.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
