Bible Study

      Last passage talks about how we receive new gifts from the Holy Spirit and how our church can recognize our gifts so that we can exercise those gifts to work as a better and better team to build up the whole church. And if that really happen, we can see those good characters as described from verses 14 to 20 can be a reality. 

    If you read that seven verses carefully, you should be able to find out most of the situations described there are not possible to happen. Why? Do you think you can bless those who persecute you? Do you think it is possible to rejoice with those who rejoice? Lots of people have jealousy seeing other people rejoice. Most people sneak away know someone weeping because they just don't know how to deal with it. How about pride, thinking your way is the only way? And, about how to deal with our enemies, what are you going to do? No matter what, most people won't do what Paul says from verses 17 to 20. Do you know what, that's what we call "evil"! Lots of time we become a evil creature without knowing.

    So, if you can exercise your gifts from the Holy Spirit, you might have a better chance to overcome evil with good. Do you think so? 

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"


Spiritual Journal

     What I heard from Jesus today is: Overcome evil with good

    What I got from Jesus today is a time to take a test. A test to see if you have received some gifts from the Holy Spirit and know to exercise those gifts. Because if you know how to exercise, then all those good characters can happen in you and you can over evil with good.

    How blessed we would be if we really can overcome evil with good! 

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be able to exercise our spiritual gifts so that we can be in a better position to overcome evil with good.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
