Paul concludes this chapter about not taking God's role as a judge with a practical and humour instruction. The right way for us to use our judgment! Yes, the right way for us to use our judgment is to make sure that we do not put a stumbling block to our brothers and sisters.

Bishop N.T. Wright's says ()http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright:

Paul says with deliberate humour, don't pass judgment on each other - but do use your judgment in not tripping each other up!

N.T. Wright. Paul for Everyone:Romans: Part 2. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2004, p.106.

When we take God's role to judge other people, we put a stumbling block to trip others up. Why do we do that?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

What I heard from Jesus today is: How to use your judgment in a right way

What I got from Jesus today is a wonderful reminder of how to use our judgment. For the past three days, we have some serious thoughts about how not to take God's role to judge other people. In this concluding passage, Paul gives us another picture that there is a right way to use our judgement. Use your judgment to prevent negative judgment to happen. That is, a positive decision and judgment.

Yesterday when some of our people were having breakfast after our weekly Saturday 9a.m. prayer meeting, a brother shared about how good he learned from my podcast about judgment. He said, "To prevent us from judging others we need to count our blessings." Yes, he is right. The worst judgment is the reverse of count our blessings. What is it? It is to dig out some past hurting events and make it more hurting.

The more we don't want to let go our past hurt and dig out those past wounds, the more judgment we might have and the more insecure, angry and bitter we would become. That is to becoming more and more like the Devil because Satan is exactly in that state as always. He is the accuser, the separator and the lier.

Why not learn following Paul's wisdom to use your judgment first to stop all those stumbling blocks and hinderance. Then start with always count your blessings, then more appreciation and encouragement, and then you will be more and more secure, more loving, more joy and more like Jesus. Got it?

Dear Lord Jesus,

Lead us to use our judgment in a right way so that we know how to count our blessing, willing to give more appreciation and encouragements and that we can be more like you.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
