Bible Study
      There are so many people being pulled into depression due to all kinds of problems they cannot tackle with. Paul could be one of the victims because his problems should be more than anyone you know of.  Here in this passage Paul explains to us that he did not fell into that depression as Elijah experienced. It is not how good he was or how much he did for Christ. It is purely God's grace! 

Bishop N.T. Wright's says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright):
     Despite universal sin, God has found a way, through unmerited grace alone, to do once more, only now on a grander scale, what he did in the time of Elijah.  There is, ultimately, no need to plunge into gloom over what seems to have happened.  it is serious; but God's plans, God's power and God's grace are more than equal to the problem.

     Do you think you can get away from the darkness of depression because you know that God's grace is more than your problems? 

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

     What I heard from Jesus today is: God's grace is more than your problems

    What I got from Jesus today is such a relief to all my problems. No one can imagine how much problems each one of us have. It is just too many! That's why there are so many people in depression, and too many in mental hospital if not commit suicide, just like what Elijah wanted to do when he was in deep depression as describes in 1 Kings 19: 1- 18. 

     Elijah came to a broom tree, sat down under it and prayed that he might die.                                        1 Kings 19:4

      Even Elijah, the greatest prophet in history of mankind could be pulled into deep depression. How can we escape? Right? NO! We can!

      We can because God's grace is more than your problems! 

 Dear Lord Jesus,
When we are depressed, help us to remember that your grace is more than our problems. Pull us out of that darkness that we can receive the fresh anointing from the Holy Spirit each day to joyfully walk with you to extend your mighty Kingdom. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
