Bible Study

     We come today to the central theme of this book again: faith without deeds is dead. Lots of Christians just talk the talk but can't walk the walk.

Let's take a look at what Bishop N.T. Wright says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :

      
      Without a radical change of life, that 'faith' is worthless, and will not rescue someone from sin and death…
      Abraham's faith was a living faith.  It wasn't a bare acknowledgement of God, but rather an active friendship(verse 23, referring to passages like Isaiah 41.8)…
     Rahab translated that belief into action, even though it was risky…
     Translating belief into action, even when it seems impossible or downright dangerous. That is the faith that matter.  That is the faith that Justifies(verse 24).  That is the faith that saves (Verse 14).  This is near the heart of the message of James: the challenge to make sure that faith is the real thing, that it does what it says on the packet.

Spiritual Journal

    The title I heard from Jesus today is: Active friendship, active action

    The message I got from Jesus today is the only way to have the real faith. It comes with an active friendship with God. And, as a result of that, active action.

    I have seen too many Christians and even Christians leaders can not have active action because they do not have an active friendship with Jesus. How can I tell that. By their fruit and that is their action living out what they claim. 

    I do hope you are not one of those people! 

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to have an active friendship with you that we can show forth our fruit with active action. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
