Bible Study

     We find here in today's passage the secret to good marriage, especially the wide and successful spread of the Gospel through good marriage. 

Let's take a look at what Bishop N.T. Wright says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :

      
      The first, larger aim is that non-Christian husbands be won for the faith (verse 1). As historical studies have shown, this is in fact one of the primary ways in which the Christian faith spread during the first two or three centuries, despite the fact that the authorities were doing their best to stamp it out…
     The second larger aim is that Christian couples should be able to pray together and to do so effectively (verse 7).

      Can you imagine these two simple instructions from Peter to the Christians could bring a rapid growth of Christians in spite of all kinds of persecution in the Early Church time? What have you got from these two ways of good marriage?

    The title I heard from Jesus today is: Two ways of good marriage

    The message I got from Jesus today is a call for us to follow these two ways. If you are female Christian and your husband is not a Christian, just follow the instruction of what Peter says from verse 1 to verse 6, sooner or later your husband will become a good Christian because of your good behaviour and lifestyle of Christlikeness.

    If you and your spouse are both Christians, you need to pray together at least once everyday. The power of a couple praying together is beyond what we can understand.

    You have listened, now you need to do it. Will you do it starting today?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be willing to do what Peter says in today's passage so that there are more and more good marriages and a revival in the community and nation will come.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
