Bible Study

Today's passage shows us how impossible can turn out to be possible. How could Abraham, an old man of ninety-nine years old could have a son? Impossible!

Let's take a look at what Professor John Goldingay says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

Sarai/Sarah moves from having a name that would not mean anything to one that would mean something.  The covenant turns Sarai into a queen, a princess, a lady...
She is to become the mother of nations, and kings are to be born from her, people such as Saul, David, Solomon, and the kings who will follow.

John Goldingay. Genesis for Everyone - Part Two. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2010, p.11.

What is the key to turn the impossible into possible? Would you like to experience the impossible turning into possible? Do you know what you need to do in order that you can experience that?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

Spiritual Journal

The title I heard from Jesus today is: The covenant turns the impossible into possible

What I got from Jesus today is a clear message of how we can experience the impossible turning into possible. It is the covenant that God has with Abraham. And, covenant is all about relationship. Giving a new name to Abram to be Abraham, a new name to Sarai to be Sarah is purely relationship.

So, it is not what you can do to experience the impossible turning into possible.  It is how you can be with God each day that you are in a relationship with Him that things can happen like that.

I cherish the daily intimate being with God each day and I have experienced numerous times that impossible turning into possible, numerous times!

    How about you?

Is there anything you lack so that you can't experience that? Do you know what do you lack?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be with you each day that we can witness and experience impossible turning to possible. Help us to know and trust you that in you all things are possible. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
